Nice starter for a whisky evening.
    • Nose
      Matt gold

First of all, I have nail polish remover. Then comes honey and fennel. I have never had such a clear fennel note. Some marzipan, lemon and orange. Caraway follows and brings along a sour plum.
With some time in the jar, the caraway gets stronger and stronger. Follow apple and pear brandy with hazelnut.
    • Taste
Soft start. Then followed by pepper and again fennel. Sour yeast dough with cake spices. The taste goes much more in the light fruity, immature direction. Hard, unripe peach. Acid, stale must and cereals. A nutty bitterness follows. The alcohol is clearly noticeable despite "only" 43%.
    • Finish
Short to medium. First honey, then some pepper and bitterness. A spicy note remains at the end.

He is not a discovery. I had him as a gift sample in an order to test. That's it then.

He sends some pepper but also red fruits with some plums get through. Is there caramel to smell?
      The nose is not bad.
    • Taste

He comes a little thin. Of everything and nothing right. Yes sounds bad but he is an all-rounder just very thin designed. OK, fruits with honey and some peat / earth maybe!? ....not more.
    • Finish
      80 80
I would say normal departure through the middle. With spicy sweet and sherry notes in the end. Default.

  3. malthead-sven scored this whisky 82 points Expert Senior

beautiful malt without special airs. Deep, pleasing aroma without being rinsed with soft, stands out above all by its creamy-nutty consistency
    • Nose
very ripe, juice of pickled pears, full vanilla and grape aroma, with honey, yellow and green apples, malt, hot mead, caramel, a trace of hazelnut later
    • Taste
unexpectedly spicy, malt-caramel sweets, creamy, creamy and nutty
    • Finish
medium-long and without large frills, sweet, honey mixed with some tart herbs, the sherry barrel influence makes itself felt

  4. Andytka3 scored this whisky 74 points Connoisseur

Open up nicely, mild blue cheese spreads on cream cracker, lightly
peppery, savoury. At the same time red dates, some prunes with a whiff
of plasticine. Solid, soft caramel. complex, entertaining and well

P- Boiled dark fruits with light honey, earthy sweet
peat, flawless but not as promising as the aroma. Modest and modern.
Slightly disappointing on the thin texture.

F- Medium, return of sweet fruits and sweet sherry, perhaps some peppers.
