oh - blatant part - which has something, very independent, tastes really delicious even if the notes isolated that does not give way, vllt must have a her too short over 50 ¬ is really good stuff for the bored advanced
    • Nose
Beef tenderloin with lovage, tender burned match note, garlic, removes oranges, a bit of citrus, some wax, Burgol shoe polish, new leather jacket, sweet - spicy sour oak, bay leaf, with a bit of aeration: feels slightly like carbonated nose - orange soda with Eggpups (smell of sulfur like hard-boiled eggs)
    • Taste
sourish - spicy fresh oak with young fresh bitterness, chili tingling, wax on the tongue, slightly viscous, vanilla, intense lemon, caramel, toffee - beautiful sweetness mixes with a fresh spicy oak, tingles the palate - with some chewing matches with tendency to light dirty sulfur
    • Finish
strong intense spicy lemony, sweet, dry - lemon becomes tangerine, tangerine peach ... stays long on the tongue, wood, wax spices

Mortlach has always been interesting to me. That's why I started with this bottle. I was pleasantly surprised. A good malt in terms of price-performance ratio.
    • Nose
You have to like it. Matches. Smells too good to me to think of sulfur. Wonderfully mineral. Light honey and raisins. Dominant notes of tea. Not uncomfortable, but somehow exciting. I know Mortlach is hated and loved for all of this. I like that a lot. Now I have some orange peel. Letting breathe is good for him. Then it goes from match to wood. Light vanilla flavored with oak .. The leather saddle also hangs in the room.
    • Taste
Orange or rather lemon. Again the matches. Honey, caramel and citrus peel. Slightly mineral and drying. Now he's getting hot. There's caramel and it's gone again. Barley and grassy leather conquer the mouth. Everything works very harmoniously with one another. Good barrel choice.
    • Finish
Medium to short. Oily and minerally, it goes too fast. Peppery lemon and cinnamon. Almonds lie in the grass and complement this experience. A pleasant finish.

Again and again this great light Mon Cherie spice with the sweetness on the tongue and the great great caramel taste in the finish rarely such clear flavors that are just perfect for me .. Plus cinnamon cigar and even musty notes that often have much older whiskys.
Strange that I find the 15 much more aromatic than the 21 from Gordon & ....

Vanilla, honey, orange. For 15 years still pretty sharp, especially in the aftertaste. No wrong Mortlach, especially considering the price.

It has been very worthwhile to try this whisky again, like the Linkwood 15yo I have been able to rediscover this Mortlach several times.
    • Nose
Horrible Eiernote, but soon lays down. Orange lemonade, unripe apples, unripe plums, burning matches
    • Taste
Large portion of white currant jam, wood smoke, soft, fruity, oranges, horse stable
    • Finish
Briefly Olorosonoten flash, slightly dry, again light wood smoke with immature plum

    a nice dram, quite quaffable.
    86/100
    • Nose
confectionery with a very light sherry influence, oranges and nuts, apricots, golden raisins. hints of honey. after 10 minutes you can get some oak and whiffs of smoke. unfortunately latter brushes away all the nice orange aromas.
    • Taste
spicy arrival, the sherry influence is not very obvious. malt, slightly bitter oak and crystallized orange peel. nuts galore.
    • Finish
      medium in length, spicy.
