Whisky Reviews for Tullamore Dew 12-year-old
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 80.66 points
- The nose is mild and already suggests sweetness. On the tongue it is squeaky sweet and artificially fruity. Colorful mix of Campino sweets or gummy bears. But not the juice bears, but the old ones, with artificial flavors.
In between also chocolate and coconut.
Lime combined with white chocolate. Smooth and fruity. Also some cinnamon in it.
No flavor bomb, but velvety soft, some green apple and butter cake. Some candy at the end.
Mild, rather little aftertaste. A whiskey that can be enjoyed by everyone, but don't expect an explosion. It ebbs away very quickly.
- Nose: Spices. Chocolate. Nuts. Red wine. Gently oaky. Faint blueberries.
Palate: More spice that blends beautifully with fruitiness. Chocolate coming through with some hearty nuts. Some marzipan.
Finish: Long. Warm. Chocolate lingering with the marzipan.
Overall Score: 85. Beautiful! Very smooth and very tasty. Bold flavors that show the 12 years in an oak cask. The nose is the most subtle part but it’s still very nice and brings a lot to the table. After the lovely stuff from the regular Tullamore, the 12 was a nice step in the right direction to make this a staple in my collection.
- Colour: gold
Nose: light, fresh with notes of apples, varnish, croissant, dried fruits, vanilla, allspices.
Mouth: light with notes of apples, caramel and spices.
Finish: middle with varnish, apples, spices and vanilla notes.
Tullamore D.E.W. is a light, easy drinkable, smooth and simple whiskey. It’s very good for simple drinking.
