    • Nose
Begins very sherrytönig and strongly influenced by the wood. After a while, almonds, muscobado sugar, canned mandarins, dark chocolate and later on also citrusy and floral hints. With a little water, a lot more fuel character. Wet cardboard boxes, banana, juicy orange clay, nuts and tropical honeys.
    • Taste
Again strongly influenced by the wood. Full sherry barrel flavors, oak, fine spices like allspice, star anise, but also rancio, grass, wet autumn leaves and dried figs. A little more balanced with water and more dried fruit, nuts and cinnamon.
    • Finish
Long, very spicy, sherrytönig and nutty. Later also dried figs.

    • Taste
fruity sweet, lots of pepper, butter, spices, light petrol whiff, red wood
    • Finish
short, fruits, pepper, red wood, fruits and pepper at the back followed by woodsy spices

A really great whisky. The vote of the barrels is absolutely successful! Neither the First Fill sherry portion, nor the Bourbon barrels are dominant or crowd into the foreground. A perfect harmony, in which everything is right for me. And besides the taste also counts: not cool filtered, good drinking strength, no coloring and all this for a good price! • Nose
As the packaging promises a nice, light blend of sherry and bourbon. Immediately a vanilla sweetness is noticed. Reminiscent of vanilla sugar, maybe not so sweet. Even the nose promises a creamy mouthfeel. How it works? Do not ask me! Something floral-spicy comes along, still mild. Then a bit more fruity with strawberries, maltiness.
    • Taste
The mouthfeel is really nice. Full, full and at the same time nice and mild. Well integrated vanilla sweetness, some powdered sugar, with a hint of fruity. Could be a covered cake. The sherry barrel adds fruitiness, juicy red apples, cotton candy, barely dark fruits, maybe a few raisins. None of the flavors stand out too much, everything is incredibly beautiful harmonious. To finish a few herbs and very light spice.
    • Finish
Something spicier than the taste. Probably comes in the nearly 10 years already from the barrels. But there is no unpleasant bitterness, rather the whisky just gets a little drier and stays sweet-spicy for some time in the mouth. The finish is not very long, but pleasant.

The nose is very interesting, soft with slight sherry tones, gentle.  The palate is about the same.  All in all very nice though.  The finish is a bit short.
