I took a dram out of a bottle which was already emptied for 50%. I still left it in the glass for an hour, before tasting.

Typical matured, bourbon grain nose. Sweetness of tropical fruits all over. Very nice.
    • Taste
      85 85
In spite of the fact that I left it in the glass for an hour to breath and after adding 4 drops of water, the taste is quite spicy and even stinging. I had hoped that the sweetness would have continued in the taste; but that is not the case. Better in combination with dark chocolate.
    • Finish

Medium to long finish. A bit sour and in the far end somewhat watery.

I expected a lot more for a this Port Dundas being on respectable age. But after over an hour in the glass I have to say it’s really not that complex. It has some foam bananas, vanilla sauce, cinnamon and ginger but that’s basically it. Not impressed.

Proven to be a staple first drink of the night, setting a baseline for possibly more aggressive drinks to come, it is pleasant without being outstanding.
    • Nose
the alcohol tends to stings before a great nose comes through but it a pleasant enough nose although quite muted
    • Taste
more the strength of the alcohol with some sweetness
    • Finish
an only slight bitter coating; with repetition more of a sharp peachy note

I'll go so for a sigle malt... Add note

    Colour: a pleasing butterscotch
Nose: it is a real sweetie on the nose with cinder toffee prominent and a creamy edge that I'd go with a luxurious white chocolate. The Stones with their brown sugar strikes up. Citrus of all things as if someone has tossed a lime cordial into the mix which cuts through the sweetness. Cinnamon follows with your staple grain coconut characteristic plus vanilla and honey.
Taste: one of those drams where what I nosed actually comes through so the brown sugar, toffee and honey are very evident. Ginger sponge cake and oat cakes with what I'm thinking is a trifle without the alcohol. It goes without saying there's vanilla and a little banana but its all those sugars that come through on the palate.
