As with almost every Compass Box creation I know, the whiskey needs a lot of time in the glass to unfold. Then a wonderful aroma develops, which is first of all marked by Grain: Almond and hay meet with cereal and biscuit dough. Light saccades of sherry casks follow: light and dark grapes mingle with red apples, orange zest and fruit syrup. Finally, the whiskey is still spicy with allspice and oak.
The taste is characterized by a lot of nuts (walnut and hazelnut), caramel, cappuccino and tiramisu. This not only reads like an Italian dessert menu, it tastes that way too.
With water, sweet elements get stronger (fudge, toffe, coffee chocolate).
The finish is medium to long and semi-dry with oatmeal, coffee and a little vanilla. The most uninspired part of the bottling.
