- pale/bland overall but drinkable at a certain level, but boring
fruity, malt, floral, grains, honey, nuts, butter, astringent/alcohol, light sour grass, sugars, light sherry
fruits, light wood bitter, light sherry, grainy texture, honey, citrus peel, sweet grains, light oloroso sour and salty, marzipan
short, fruits, marzipan, some woodsy sourness, stewed fruits at the back with some sherry sourness and long bitter woodsy malt
- A great Speysider that even with only 11 years maturation can score with a great oak note.
Fine fruity nose with a focus on ripe red apples and orange peel. The fruit is covered in a blanket of wild herbs. After a while, in addition to the fruit notes and floral aromas. Some vanilla completes an elegant nose.
The creamy onion dominate orange peel and blossom. Vanilla oak from the beginning, and maturing at only 11 years. Raisins and milk chocolate give the malt a nice depth. Milk chocolate turns dark chocolate after a while, a touch of pepper pulls through the palate.
In the medium-long finish, it is a bit dry, but leaves a creamy-oaky-orange-fruity taste on the tongue.
- Nose: Raisin, caramel, vanilla. A nice nose, nice. A malty drought after aeration. Palate: A slight vinous and fruity bitterness. Creamy texture. Apple and lemon syrup. Finale: Light alcoholic kick, and a ripple of industrial solvent. Some spices at the end of the mouth.
