Taste: strong tingling onset, only briefly a sweet cocoa note but quickly displaced by bitter orange peel and heavy oak. A slight sugar candy sweetness with cherry flavor remains but over the entire finish. The wood is very dominant and skin to the end with its bitterness fully pure. With water comes the cocoa note and caramel stronger but also the oak is a bit musty muffiger. Nevertheless, the water is delicious and creamy in the mouth.
Unusual and somehow delicious. But the big hit is whisky tales for the anniversary unfortunately not succeeded. Too expensive compared to other 18's Arrans.
