Upgraded from 85 initially to 86 points after a second tasting. The whisky needs some time and air in the bottle. Impressed with me has a dominant note of honey.

A delicious whisky, quite complex, but easy to drink, quite fruity, although the sherry is very restrained. May like it
    • Nose
Lemon, light tingling sensation on the nose, vanilla, slightly oily, malt, carambola, kiwi, some meaty, silver onions, lightly flavored fruit mousse
    • Taste
Here too, citrus freshness, then the sweetness of the malt, cherries, slight oiliness, a little vanilla, other fresh fruits and finally bitter with the tannins
    • Finish
The malt and fruit sweetness remains and of course the oak tannins

  6. Segens scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Great whisky with a lot of facets. All of them are not supergreat but the dram has something .. especially with its intense fruity charisma something during summer nights in front of a fire place. Maybe a bit too sweet finish from my opinion but well balanced and great fruitiness.
    • Nose
Sherry? I am quite suprised as I would have said it is a Bourbon Cask :-) as I have vanilla and honey.. Nothing special but OK
    • Taste
The taste is so much better than the nose for me! Some fruity sweetness of apples, pears, mandarine. Well balanced and quite complex!
    • Finish
The finish is crazy compared to nose and taste!! It is so incredibly sweet which is on the one hand outstanding as it makes this dram so special and I now realize that the whisky matured in Sherry Casks as I get the plums and the "fruits in rum" flavor which is characteristic for Sherry Casks but on the other hand also too sweet for me!

Tried this dram yesterday evening during the opening event of scotia spirit's second tasting room in cologne.
It is a wonderfull balanced, smooth, rich and complex single cask whisky with lots of sherry cask influences.
One drop of water is enogh to open it more and set free a much wider range of flavours.
The alcoholic strength of 51,5% is not too present to drink it even without water.
    I really liked this one!
