Notes from a bindtasting: A WOW Malt - today he gets restrained 93 - could run out on 92 - 95, with about 12ml in the glass I'm still careful What will that be? - no plan - 2 types of kegs come into question - an old finosherry keg or a marsala keg - I tend more to the former because the malt also looks ripe and transported beautiful oak cargo - I had the last few days really very good stuff in the glass and plays in the same league (1973 Speysider)
    • Nose
Wow - extremely ingenious exotic fruits, tree-ripened extremely sweet peaches, ripe pineapple, lime, orange juice, star fruit, a little vanilla, light oak with nutmeg, licorice, oily, full, the oak gets stronger and gets the nose over time even more balance
    • Taste
behave sweetly, then deep yellow very sweet and aromatic fruits unfold - no delicate aromas with bonds - full-mouthed, exotic, fruity, dried pineapple, peach sirloin - so aromatic it almost unreal - looks artificial, in addition comes oak - first brightly spicy, then waxy , paströs, tree sap, tannins, that goes into slight bitterness - which merges into milk chocolate and delicate grapefruit bitterness
    • Finish
spicy with a lot of cultivated light but peppery oak, a lot of mint, geranium leaves, honey, pineapple - runs out spicy and stays bitter for a very long time on the tongue

An impressive mature whisky with an incredibly fruity aroma.

Wow! A whole load of tropical fruits strikes me! Ripe mangoes, sugar-sweet pineapple, a little orange. Over time, the glass becomes deeper and spicier, showing malt and some chocolate.

Soft and creamy on the mouth, but it tingles nicely on the tongue. Very fruity and tropical again, but not as sweet as in the nose, but slightly more citrus. Then, however, shows clearly the age with strong aromatic oak, which brings dark chocolate and some leather. Great complexity and wonderfully full and mature.

A little reserved and rather short compared to the impressive taste. The oak stays spicy and dries up. Elegant finish.

with water: actually he does not need water, that's so perfect, but we'll try it with a teaspoon of H2O: oh yes, he can tolerate that well. It is a little softer, rounder and more harmonious, especially the honey sweetness becomes clearer

Conclusion: A malt that convinces me from the first nose to the last sip on full width, these 91er Irish are almost always an absolute buy recommendation, even if the prices are now approaching loosely to the 300 EUR - 90 points
    • Nose
Nose: fresh, ripe fruit basket with exotic fruit notes and stone fruits (pineapple, passion fruit, mirabelle plums, bright peaches) with distinct honey sweetness, but also some acidity (citrus / orange peel) paired with a decent dash of oak, but not too strong, pine needle oil. Some ginger and machine oil and then grapefruit - a wonderful combination, very voluminous, full of character and complex. The alcohol is well integrated
    • Taste
Taste: first the sweet, light fruit, then it becomes ever stronger and above all spicy, strong light oak notes, which remind of dried pine needles and pine cones, without becoming too heavy
    • Finish
Finish: long and intense, here too the great combination of fruit (peach) and pine / oak, which is a bit bitter at the end. As a result, the finish is reminiscent of a very intense peach fruit tea

Single Cask bottled for the Whisky Fair.   These guys seem to be picking all the good ones.... I applaud the tasting panel!
    • Nose
This is a beauty is a joy to nose. Cat boxes and gooseberries. Machine oil and grapefruit gose.  Rich and lovely, bright yet intense.
    • Taste
Palate is sweetly rich with a deep sweet grape candy twinge. Fallen leaves and pine needles with grassy peat. Earthy peat comes along under the malt syrup.
    • Finish
Finish shows the peat and sweet in style, this is exemplary Irish dram.  The oily texture comes in a little more, polished oak spice and hints of peat.
