Whisky Reviews for Tamdhu 1989 DL

9 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 89.67 points

  1. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Very appealing nose, nice start, but I am too bitter, unfortunately I have sometimes with so dark sherry bombs.
    • Nose
Ingenious nose first, pure Black Forest cake, banana split with dark chocolate, caramel on the overflowing, plus the black cherries, creme brulee slightly burnt, fine leather, it has this very particular old-school sherry of old barrels, very inviting and tasty
    • Taste
Here is a similar game initially, Black Forest cherry, dark leather, dark chocolate, but it seems a bit bitter from the beginning and then unfortunately with every second more and more, mahogany, nutmeg, clove, black cherry but with the seeds, ginger, bitter oak
    • Finish
Bitter, for me rather unappetizing, black chocolate, burnt creme brulee, dry-bitter-sweetish, medium to long

DL Old & Rare / Tamdhu 19 years / 1989 Distilled / 2009 Bottling / 1 of 202 / 55.8% The color is almost black (whether it should be called dark cherry). Nose is rich chocolate. The taste is a "giant peak" peculiar to a rich sherry barrel (if it mistakes one step, "rubber odor" → for me, it is just barely "paper thin"). The finish is long, nose dropout, the freshness of grapes and a little "salt" change. The other day, I got "20 years" of this series at a certain bar in Ikebukuro. That nose, in spite of mind, was about to runaway with "Cemedine". But maybe the taste was "20 years" personally personally liked. However, at this time, the tamdue (possibly bourbon cask?) Of "3R exclusive" which drinking compared with this "20 years" was more personally favorite. http://www.whiskylink.com/?p=4370
