- young japanese whisky
Orchard fruit sensation, quite green, a little bitterness
a little vanilla, it's quite grassy, hay under the apple trees
water of life of quetsches, of pear without the fresh side,
it's sweet, strangely, spicy too, a rancid return
fresh, fresh malt, slightly moistened hay and dry wood
always this bitterness!
spices more present, a little peppery, rancid butter there, vanilla and crushed green fruits, the juice flows and remains present.
Fruity With Green Apples in particular. Nutty. Then peachy. Turns slightly Chemical. Ends With Vanilla and grassy notes
Oily. Green Apples and Vanilla. Banana. Spicy. Rhubarb. Bitter and herbal
Long finish. Raspberries. Apples again. Pepper. Some bitter oak influence.

Chichibu ‘On The Way’ (55.5%, OB, Ichiro’s Malt, Japan, 9900 bottles, 2015): 82 Punkte
- N- Mask by sulphur, and fatty solvent notes that are off putting from the beginning. Meaty and nutty. Malt, husky and full of cereal with ordinary caramel and vanilla after breath.
P- Beside the heavy drops of vanilla bomb, nutmeg, peppery come along with zing of rusty notes, overall rather boring that just wow with the high strength.
F- Long, lifted chili spicy with echoing of mint and sweet candy notes, rather cloying and off balance, would be acceptable dram from an ordinary producer, but rather disappointed if this is from Chichibu. — at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.
- N: Young distillate by it’s very definition.
T: The young distillate has a lovely mouthfeel but the complexity is unsurprisingly low.
F: ..... same as whats gone before
C: It's good, 'on the way' young whisky.
