    young japanese whisky
    • Nose
Orchard fruit sensation, quite green, a little bitterness
a little vanilla, it's quite grassy, hay under the apple trees
    • Taste
water of life of quetsches, of pear without the fresh side,
it's sweet, strangely, spicy too, a rancid return
fresh, fresh malt, slightly moistened hay and dry wood
      always this bitterness!
    • Finish
spices more present, a little peppery, rancid butter there, vanilla and crushed green fruits, the juice flows and remains present.

N- Mask by sulphur, and fatty solvent notes that are off putting from the beginning. Meaty and nutty. Malt, husky and full of cereal with ordinary caramel and vanilla after breath.

P- Beside the heavy drops of vanilla bomb, nutmeg, peppery come along with zing of rusty notes, overall rather boring that just wow with the high strength.

F- Long, lifted chili spicy with echoing of mint and sweet candy notes, rather cloying and off balance, would be acceptable dram from an ordinary producer, but rather disappointed if this is from Chichibu. — at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.

N: Young distillate by it’s very definition.
T: The young distillate has a lovely mouthfeel but the complexity is unsurprisingly low.
F: ..... same as whats gone before
C: It's good, 'on the way' young whisky.

    Scores a C

It is incredible what is possible after that young maturity (for a non-peat whisky). A very fruity and good dram which is much better than the standards from Chichibu as the bitterness is more or less gone. I will follow this distillery on its way to 12-15 years :-)
    • Nose
Normally this whisky should be a 6-7 years old dram and therefore normally older than the Standards Double Distilleries, MWR & Wine Wood Reserve.

The nose is as fruity as the other standards but the alcohol is much better implemented. Very fruity juicy fruits as mandarines and oranges. Very well done!
    • Taste
Compared to the standards the bitterness is now gone and the fruitiness of the nose can be carried to the mouth. Also the alcohol of 55,5% suprises as it is not more spicy than the others so better implemented but carrying more taste and more fruits!
    • Finish
There is a bit of oaky bitterness in the finish but it is much better than the Standards and for me the best of the 4 I was able to try (Double Distilleries, MWR & Wine Wood Reserve)
