Old Balblair is so fantastic! Thanks Lodewijk for letting me re-tasting this real treat after a remarkable weekend at Texel.
Gorgeous dusty and 'old' leafy nose for a start. Later on more on dried apricots, figs and dates. Raisins. Herbs of camphor and camomile.
Overripe apples. Oranges. Subtle grapefruit bitterness intermingled with herbs of carraway. Artisan ciders, followed by robust sandal wood oakiness which is really mouthcoating. Pine at the background.
Long and lingering. Quite dry. A little nutmeg. Cinnamon. Some mint chocolate at the end.
