Whisky Reviews for Caol Ila 2006 EL

- Very high quality Caol Ila, certainly one of the best under 10 year old Malts I have ever had.
Very elegant, vanilla, light honey, toffee, Parmesan, fennel far behind with distill, extinct incense sticks, brown sugar, algae, flowers, some lychee and banana delicate
Honey, icing sugar, fennel, lavender, white pepper, liquorice, old incense sticks, green and white tea, full in the mouth yet elegant, rose water, flower meadow, sea water, fine iodine and pebbles, a hint of rye bread
Beautifully aromatic, such as a fragrant tree, lavender, rosemary, oregano, cumin, nutmeg and white pepper, licorice and flower scent, medium to long, later drier with oak and young leather
Cool morning sea breeze, with fishing net and fiber ropes in the air.
Lightly tar and iodine underlay. Right touch of distant smokes with
sour berries fruits.
P- Explosive of flavours with good strength building up on palate. Nutty and spicy. Match stick, charred oak. F- Smooth and long. Dried prunes layers with ginger scents smokes. Dry
mouthfeel. Well mature for a 9YO, probably was from a quarter cask.

- A young Islay neither more nor less good than another. What we find today, what. And overpriced. The Peat - Elements of Islay, almost 3 times cheaper, is just as good ...
