  1. Kensay scored this whisky 88 points Expert Junior

    unusual and interesting
    • Nose
Many field herbs, green apple, wormwood, furniture polish, bright and young for this age of whisky, sweet vanilla notes mixed with menthol chewing gum
    • Taste
sweet vanilla with woody notes, an unusual, unexpected taste, later added light enveloping notes of spices and minerality. Interesting and unusual
    • Finish
herbal with spices and metallic aftertaste, bone apricots and vanilla, sunken tree

  2. Calmar scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Not a bad, interesting enough mole, with a strong influence of a bourbon barrel, in depth and saturation a little underdogs to its years, but overall it shows a good level.
    • Nose
Open, herbaceous - wormwood, yarrow; sweet creamy notes, vanilla, carpentry, varnish, solvent, eucalyptus, salty grape leaves, gradually bourbon derivatives become dominant.
    • Taste
      Bitter sweet, woody notes, grapefruit crusts, daikon, margelan radish, light creamy tones, herbal sour - sorrel, rhubarb;
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, orange peel, metal sour, ginger, light lacquer and oily tones, apple pits.

    Good whisky in general.
    • Nose
The nose is very fresh, smells like freshly washed cloth and a hint butter cake (Botterkoek in Dutch)
    • Taste
The taste is herbs, fennel and liquorices. So a very good combination of some outspoken whisky with the right elements.
    • Finish
The finish stays very long in the mouth but is gone all of a sudden.

Nice finish with nice balance. Candy shop in a bottle.
    • Nose
Bubblegum, Mackintosh toffee, vanilla, menthol, rose petals, cherry gum drop
    • Taste
Vanilla, stone fruits, custard, minerals, wax, butterscotch ice cream topping
    • Finish
Sugar cinnamon, apricots, chamomile tea, white chocolate, pinch of chili pepper

Braes of Glenlivet 22 yo 1994/2016 (51.7%, Maltbarn, bourbon, 197 bottles)
Colour: straw. Nose: all right, exactly the style of the SMWS, only
more mature, that is to say better ‘mingled’ and with more oak. That
kind of oak translates into some nice mentholy and liquoricy vanilla
plus a little coconut. Perhaps dandelions? With water: as often, tends
to become a little earthier, as well as more mineral. Mouth (neat):
sweet and creamy, at times you would think it is bourbon. Coconut balls,
vanilla, cinnamon and ginger cake… I’d even swear there is some rye
inside. Serious. With water: very good, easy, creamy, and even a little
gewurztraminerish. Okay, okay… Finish: medium, a little more
spice-forward. Ginger, nutmeg… Comments: a very excellent cask for sure.
    I dig this creamy one. SGP:551 - 87 points.

reminds in stages of an exotic bazaar; Nose, taste and finish are very diversified, ranging from herbaceous meadow to tropical fruits. The alcohol is not always well integrated.
    • Nose
rosy, floral, scented candles, applesauce, then it becomes slightly sour, sparkling, elderberry, anise, coconut, prickly pear, then sweeter with water, a lot of toffee and vanilla, in between and on alcoholic, is slightly flowery in the end again
    • Taste
syrupy, honey, dry, somehow exotic with traces of lychee, doughy, dry
    • Finish
very voluminous, herbal tea, fades slowly and neatly dry on the cheeks, minerally sweet and medium in length
