    A smokeless Ledaig, in a way a Tobermory. And yes, you find the Tobermory, I mean. All in all, but also a delicious whisky from a good ex-bourbon barrel!
    • Nose
      Peach, gooseberry and others, especially juicy and green fruits (while most fruit flavors subside with time, the peach reveals itself gradually more pronounced), vanilla, a dirty citrus or rather ginger note, a hint of mint, fat grass or rather already olive oil;
      after some time, handcream comes to my mind, finally, at least a hint of peat or ash (but maybe this only because I expect it from a Ledaig), the malt is sweeter, walnuts and a kind of plastic smell come to it, also Jugendherbergstee ( "Gummibärchentee")
    • Taste
      oily, greasy, creamy, vanilla, almonds, a few herbs, caramel, light grapes, somehow also a vague artificial touch, with time it gets sweeter
    • Finish
      long, stays in the mouth; warm apple, brown sugar, some mild pepper and a little scratchy, in the background a hint of smoke (as in the nose, I expect that but maybe)

    The label says: "distilled at Ledaig distillery".
    This maybe true, it´s same as the Tobermory distillery as we know.
    So here we have a special case, a "unpeated Ledaig" ? ;-)

    But to confess, I´m not shure if it´s a Toby at all what I have in my glass, missing totally the typical farmy notes. Other parameters staying, my guess would be Old Pulteney.

    2nd (24/10/16): Now I get the smoke: it´s of the ashy type, subtle woven in the cask wood flavours and so not easily detectable. Besides a very fine  Bourbon cask. Elevated my points from 88 to 89.

    Astonishing sweet, tastes nearly like a sherry, honey and fruits. Also hints of citrons, verry fresh. Good age, verry good malt. Did not find any peat in there.
