Rich notes of oak, spices, sweet rye and corn, caramel and dried fruits. Taste is bold (continues flavor and adds bold butter elements).

N- Nutty, liquorice, berries cough syrup and spicy. Fruity part that evolved to strawberry with minted chocolate and pink peppercorn. Spicy as it should be with well restrained sweet aroma. Layer of mineral sphere, refine soft oak. (88/22)

P- Punchy pure lemonade without sugar. Chocolaty oak with moderate tongue fuming sensation, spicy with well rounded creamy orange and berries. Pleasant to swirl the liquid on the palate despite the 100 proof strength. (89/22)

F- Wee short to medium with lasting mellow spiciness, orange-y gooseberry, liquorice, crisp spearmint, dry and tasty. (86/20)

    Body/Balance- 89/22

A very pleasant surprise. More fruit than spices, so to speak. Very enjoyable neat, and quite affordable indeed (around 40 EUR).
    • Nose
I first smell the grain in the guise of brown bread, corn flakes and oatmeal. Then some fruit follows, mostly of the dried variety. Think peaches and banana. Surprisingly soft for a rye whiskey.
    • Taste
Hmm, this is good! Vivid palate on oranges, nougat and toffee, while the spices take their sweet time to warm your mouth. Cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, pepper and cocoa: they each play their role. Again, surprisingly soft for a rye whiskey.
    • Finish
In the finish – which sadly is quite short – the sweet, dried fruits are best experienced.

It’s starts with spices, toffee, dried fruits, stewed apples and cinnamon notes on nose. The palate is a smooth and spicy with dried fruits, cacao, citrus notes. The long finish is a spicy and sweet with dried fruits and vanilla notes. It’s an one of my favourite rye whiskey!

Surprisingly strong and tasty drink. Smell and taste notes are rich and contains oak, freshness, rye, corn, caramel and dried fruits. Finish is rich and long as well.

Wow - what a surprise! This is a big, full-bodied, and sensuous rye
whiskey. Deliciously sweet and fervid. Lovely complex flavour profile
with a bold peppery spiciness one would expect from a predominantly rye
mash bill. This one might do well in a Manhattan Rye but the much better
choice for me is enjoying this beauty neat in front of a fireplace.

I thank Borco-Marken-Import for the sample!

    • Nose
First thing you get on the nose is loads of toffee and vanilla, mixed
with a lovely sweetness of lingering dried fruits. Behind that sweet
curtain, notes of red pepper emerge, complemented by cocoa and tender
oranges. Slightly spicy with nutmeg, cloves and subtle rye in the
      background. Very aromatic.
    • Taste
Rich and vibrant! Sweet start on the palate with toffee, nougat and
candied orange peel. The rye slowly emerges and begins to grow and grow
with every sip, complemented by a very warming spiciness of cinnamon,
cloves, nutmeg and pepper. Mouth-watering with dry notes of cocoa and
oak towards the finish. Becomes very spicy indeed!
    • Finish
The finish shows medium length with tender sweet toffee and warming
peppery notes. Lime with oil of cloves, dry cocoa and spiced oak on
      tail.

WITH WATER: The toffee sweetness and dried fruitiness are
slightly tamed when adding a few drops of water, whereas notes of sweet
red pepper, nutmeg and oak increase. Less sweet on the palate as well,
while the warming spiciness continues to emerge with black pepper,
prickling oak, cloves and rye. Slightly drying notes of cocoa in the
back. The finish is medium long, very dry and mouth-watering with spiced
      oak, nutmeg, rye and cloves.

Feels watered down, but a good whiskey for laid-back sipping on a Sunday afternoon.
    • Nose
Aromatic, spicy, notes of herbs, coconut, mint, wood, varnish, vanilla and white sugar.
    • Taste
Sweet, slightly herbal, varnish, wood and black tea. Not overly complex, but pleasant.
    • Finish
Short, initially sweet and after a moment becomes slightly spicy, ginger, sugar, toffee.
