Whisky Reviews for Glenfarclas 21-year-old

- Great malt for a great price.
subtle nose: fine sherry and clearly citrus fruits;
first softer, then explosive fruity onset, grapefruit, sherry, dark fruits, chocolate, nuts, spices, lots of oak;
medium; in the end a lot of oak, becoming dry;
- It has the same DNA as the 15-year-old, yet is very different. I like them equally though.
Sweet and fruity, with peaches, apple sauce and pear skin. Good balance and maturity. Hints of puff pastry and icing sugar as well. Just a tad floral.
The sweetness certainly makes an encore, in the way of sultanas and pralines. A whiff of cherry syrup as well, loads of caramel and just a tinge of charred oak.
Soft spices, honey. Medium in length.
