Whisky Reviews for Speyside Distillery 2009 RS

- My blind-tasting notes: young and quiet strong single malt scotch, above 50%, less than 8 years old, could be an Arran Amarone Cask.
- Blindtasting: Wow! Great malt, I like it very much. Beautifully complex, at first mild, then surprisingly strong at the start and finish. Touch 46% and Speyside. Because of the color I type in a white wine barrel. However, I have hardly found any wine notes.
I found it very tasty anyway.
Very mild, creamy, floral sweetness, after honey, banana and vanilla. Later still wood, as if one enters a freshly heated Saua. I can not yet deduce a derivation to any wine finish.
Not as mild as in the nose, but still very pleasant and supple. Is always tingling on the tongue, punshed at once strong. Citrus notes.
Sweet, slightly sour and tart, first honey and sweetness, is getting spicier, heather herbs - still associated with a profound sweetness. Sweet and sour take turns. At the end of speculoos (but I also had eaten earlier, so possibly Geschmacksverurrung). Magnificent, long finish.
