    Quick hit review.

Sour fruits with a mixture of floral, herbal and 'green' notes dominate the nose. A bit reminiscent of a young Balblair. On the palate, the bourbon casks shine through, and there is a peppery kick in the development. Light peatiness emerges, reminding me of Ailsa Bay. An interesting malt despite its youthfulness.

A nice, easy / light starter for a tasting lineup - or otherwise an aperitif whisky. There's enough substance to keep the serious malt person (SMP) occupied and un-bored, but not anything that would confuse or distract the average layperson drinker (ALP). Toes the line successfully, you could say.

P.S. Could someone tell "coldsun" to reconsider his scoring metric?

Yeasty, bready, malty, with wild meadow flowers and a dash of citrus. I also imagine I'm getting a wisp of peat smoke. Young, but not unpleasantly so. Rather nice, actually.

Yes, there's a tiny bit of peat in here - just enough to convey a sense of ashy coal smoke and darken things up a bit. Otherwise, this plays out pretty evenly on a sweet / malty / more-ish mellow vibe. Not perfect, but perfectly inoffensive.

Maize, sunflower oil and a whiff of peat smoke. Works just fine.
