I like him. This Kaufhausbilligblendbittkeit (Copyright by @Marko_I) is completely missing here. Complex is different, but I increase my score from 86 to 87
    • Nose
Somehow musty and slightly stale. Banana is here. Then there is oak and a little vanilla. The bitterness that I expect with a grain is missing here almost completely. Sweetness dominates the nose.
    • Taste
Sweet honey and vanilla. Nice creamy. Again delicious oak flavors. The mouth is getting dry. Here the alcohol is first holding back, but builds up increasing and ending in a fierce pepper note
    • Finish
Reminiscent of a single malt. Then comes the bitterness, if only very slightly. Again a fruity sweetness flashes up. The oak presses very nicely at the end again.

Wonderfully soft but certainly full dram. With the typical characteristics of a grain in the smell and taste. You have to give him some time in the glass, but then you also have something.

Very soft and tasteful whiskey, full of aroma and taste.
    • Nose
Glue, sweet, vanilla, honey. Fruity, banana, lemon. Grassy.
    • Taste
Soft! Slightly peppery, further milk chocolate, vanilla, banana. Slightly some glue, lemon.
    • Finish
Pretty long, slightly peppery, sweet, vanilla, lemon, oak.

A very fine single grain! The sweetness is quite well balanced with the spices and citrus tones in this grain. It certainly is well aged. On the palate the slight solvent tones, from the bourbon cask, are noticeable but not overpowering (thank god). It needs some aeration time to really open up and a wee drop of water can help you there. But be careful with water as this tends to make it overly sweet but than again it makes it even oilier on the palate.
All in all a very nice single grain!
    • Nose
A spicy yet fruity, fresh and well balanced whisky with aromas of white pepper, subtle coffee, red apples, green apples, pear, banana, boiled sweets, chocolate, damp cellar, old books, vanilla, honey, old leather, hazelnut, floral tones, mocha, toffee, coconut, subtle citrus (mainly lemon peel), grapes, grass and subtle creamy oak.
    • Taste
A powerful, spicy, sweet and balanced whisky with aromas of white pepper, slight solvent tone, glue, pineapple, honey, ginger, tannins, oak, maple syrup, icing sugar, vanilla, floral tones, coconut, milk chocolate, hazelnut, citrus, mocha, caramel, toffee, backed banana, cherry liqueur chocolate’s, marzipan and creamy oak.
    • Finish
A medium to long and sweet finish with aromas of banana, coconut, chocolate, honey, vanilla, tangerines, subtle tannins and creamy oak.
