I think this one needs a lot of water to open it up and on a personal level it lacks balance and burns too much to enjoy it.
I cannot do a full tasting note because its too hard and I am not enjoying this enough.
There is some decent fruit in the mix, but its too rough and I hardly ever find whisky rough, perhaps the 64% Glendullan I had before this has smashed my palate a little.
I find this one dimensional , its not mega bad and certainly drinkable but I am really struggling with this one but it is improving with time in the glass.

One of those older cask-strength malts that benefit enormously from the time and oxygen in the glass. This long-horn is particularly strong in the nose and in the very lively and varied finish, which again shows juicier fruits. You do not often. Very fine.
    • Nose
      91 91
In the first nose intense herb sharpness, eucalyptus, spicy herb drops. Over time, the alcohol calms down (at least 57.2%) and next to the meadow herbs, ripe light grapes and some mango come to the fore. The longer the malt rests in the Nosingglas and can recharge oxygen, the "older" and "rounder" he becomes.
    • Taste
      90 90
Feels tingling into the mouth, quickly becomes sweeter with lychee and Mangoanklängen, dry meadow herbs, some hard cheese bark; Oak.
    • Finish
      92 92
In the end, the hay and herbal notes dominate, complemented by some oak, which is supplemented by a few more exotic fruits. A very lively and varied finish.
