- I have a very mixed impression of this Bowmore - really good on the nose and then this bad surprise of the flowery and soapy notes - it's in particular bad because it reminds me on the really bad series of Bowmores from the 80s that had those awful flowery and soapy notes (yes, the glass print series)
Honey, peaches, apricots, whiffs of smoke and cold ashes, hints of old books, spices, touch of ginger - very good!
Very oily, creamy, little fruity, subtle sweetness, and then the slightly flowery and soapy notes kick-in, hints of cardboard
Medium long, warm, sweet and fruity again, the soapy notes don't last but the cardboardy notes do
Very sooty and oily, with lubricants and linseed oil, tar, licorice root, fennel, honey, dried fruits and dusty barley.
Again very oily, menthol, licorice root, fruit and honeyed barley.
Somewhat cooling on menthol, but further still oily (linseed oil), fennel, licorice assortment and pepper.
- Sherry nose then nicely fruity, light peat, subtle. Exoticism and candied citrus. Tertiary notes. Explosive mouth for the degree, delicate sherry, sweet spices, exotic fruits, candied citrus and light peat. Final a little brief.
