  1. Dram Dracula scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

    It's a "Highland Malt" and the "Pride of Orkney". Highland Park? Almost for sure, unless someone's trying to play a trick on us and it's a Scapa. The review is from a round mini.
    • Nose
      88 88
      Tropical fruits (peaches and pears) with peat. Not a bad start.
    • Taste
      87 87
      Light and simple, but there is a freshness here that is surprising. Slight bitterness. Hints of nuts and sesame.
    • Finish
      83 83
      Short. A bit of flatness in the finish.

  2. Armin Fuchs scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    A great nose, a thin body, a taste with some disturbing aromas, a quite good finish.

    Tasting with FineSpirits_butler1 in June 2018.
    • Nose
      sweet aftershave, heather, soft, caramel, bouillon cubes, (brownish) honey;

      a hint of lightly roasted nuts, tropical fruit, dark vanilla sauce flowing on burnt sugar, leather, malty caramel with a proportion of color thinner;

      in the beginning the Alcohol has some 'Spiritus', which turns into a mixture of spicy honey and parmesan cheese with the spicy woods, hint of vinegar, rough wooden chair;

      Apple juice, arugula seasoning, slices of oranges, peppered wood drawer, cinnamon, light smoke, some workshop, marshmallows, pear jam with cinnamon stick ...

      Very round and with a lot of sweetness of all shades and a balanced spiciness.

      Clearly from the beginning the main part is 'Highland Park'!
    • Taste
      At first stinging and harsh, then:

      red berries, gooseberries, citrus, peppery, sour & sweet oranges, vinegar in honey, salt water, apple juice, woody aromas, later trop. fruits, spicy oak and herbs, heather, some smoke;

      first impression: thin, watery, far away from the quality of the nose!

      the second sip added: bitter-sweet, a lot of acid, leather with dark chocolate.
    • Finish
      Herbaceous woody notes, aftertaste of tropical fruits, sourish, a little undefined sweetness, slightly 'vegetable';

      woody aromas, also red fruits, wood smoke, cocoa powder.

  4. St. Pauli scored this whisky 79 points Connoisseur

    Nothing to remember really.
    • Nose
      The nose is mainly dominated by malt and honey. It has a bit of an earthy character with licorice root, and a fruity side with peach.
    • Taste
      Quite malty, with a hint of toffee, apricot, and some pepper. Nothing spectacular.
    • Finish
      Still dominated by barley, honey, a bit of fruit and ginger.
