    [June, 2017]  I had this during a "Laddie" tasting of the FoSM at Bonn.

    To be honest, this is neither Valentine nor a kiss to me...  This is an average young Laddie (among hundreds) that is enhanced a little too much in a port hogshead.  The port wine is too aggressive (to me) and completely dominates the whisky.  The Laddie itself offers some cheesy flavours that I do not like.  The finish is of medium length and winey sweet but again slightly cheesy.  Water smoothes the dram, not sure if it is better this way.

    No, even at a fraction of this ridiculous price I would not buy a bottle of this...

    Slightly moldy sweet plums! Wow !!! Very nice yuck, you can drink and drink and nothing is boring, even those pushy plums are not boring, yum yum yum !!!

    Dense and rich sherry whisky, too herbal, potion, for my taste, but otherwise very good, well tailored, very diverse and complex for its age, and the age is not very large.

      Open, dry, first nose - peat, changing leaves; dry herbs, valerian, licorice, creamy notes - boiled condensed milk, toffee; coffee, dark chocolate, cigar box, pipe tobacco.
    • Taste
      Dense, saturated, sweet dried fruits, raisins, prunes, tart oak, chocolate, cappuccino, dried mushrooms.
    • Finish
      Spicy, warming, burnt crackers, burnt caramel, prunes, dried apples, oak, coffee.

    One
    great malt! From the intense sweet, fruity and changeable nose with
    Seasoning and Brennereicharakter to a surprisingly mild but complex and
    spicy taste. In all areas a lot of port wine influence. My
    Critic is next to the horrendous price for a 12-year-old the easy
    stinging nose (alcohol). Whereby I did not dilute the sample, what with
    the taste is also unnecessary. Surprising was the intense chili in the
    Taste for all the sweetness and fruit. Very beautiful!

      Herrlich,
      In the first nose immediately a wealth of flavors. Toffee, very sweet, vanilla,
      almost panna cotta, sweet strawberry, cocktail cherries, cinnamon, milk chocolate, the
      Alcohol stands out, nuts. Now it gets spicier with pepper and salt and
      subtle sea flavors, a little smoke, nice Brennereicharakter. Now
      again the port wine influence increases, the toffee notes recede
      for that comes a subtle citrus note and oak. After some time
      Strawberries will make sugared Haribo strawberries and a wine note.

      Alcohol, caramel and chocolate, plus a pleasantly subtle smoky note,
      a bit earthy and wood, no alcohol, strawberries and
      Chili powder (but full) and pepper

      sweet and fruity with lots of port wine, a little bitterness, dark chocolate,
      becoming drier and a pleasant woody note, medium long, a fresh
      Citrus notes remain with jam sweetness

    Reminds me of the character to the Bruichladdich 2002 Warehouse Diamond from the Chateau D'Yquem Sauternesfass, also from MoS. Wonderful aromas of wine, unmistakable sweetness - but also a little too much wood influence. Overall, I like it a lot, a little better balance would be necessary for a top rating in my book.
    • Nose
      First to the color: There is no suitable selection in the Whiskybase scale. I would say Rosé wine is best. In the aroma there is also a strong port wine influence: Intense sweetness, strawberries, wine gum and cane sugar meet vinous acidity and a distant hint of smoke. Behind the sweetness and the red fruitiness already flashes an intensive draft from the port Hogshead. Typically for Bruichladdich the alcohol is well integrated.
    • Taste
      An Intermezzo in three acts: The first start is soft, buttery, sweet and yet intense. Then follow many ripe red fruits, which are doused with caramelized sugar. And then the barrel and the alcohol suddenly start to beat. Pepper, wine, chili oil and really intense spices. The fruity and sweet side is clearly drowned out.
    • Finish
      Long and dry. Bitter chocolate filled with fruit pulp, English marmalade, associations with warm wood smoke. You can tell that the fruitiness and the port wine are there, but the wood is a bit too strong and does not let them forward properly.
