A bottling that pays off. And as befits a good trade fair filling something unusual. A very interesting mix. Very versatile, especially how to compare the nose and the aroma. So you should definitely get in while it still exists. So who likes smoke and port, that's right here. Especially if it should not be too much smoke, as is the case with certain Laphroaig bottlings, but great underpainting.
    • Nose
And even when pouring smoke notes with Portanklängen noticeable. Unfortunately I was a drop in the hand, but then came to the smell already associations of a great barbecue or fried breakfast bacon. If it is a little longer in the glass and already diluted with water, then the port notes are more prominent, but still well integrated with the smoke. I also have slight hints of salt and well how should I say, I have in some Islay distilleries also echoes of cheese. This is also quite easy here. In addition, dark berries, sherry, leather, gummy candy, grapes. So just when you leave it a bit quiet it will be sweeter and fruitier.
    • Taste
A lightest burning is to be heard at the cask strength (also diluted). Smoke and port are now in the foreground. Likewise, a heat spreads in the mouth. And some salt.
    • Finish
Medium to long finish. And interesting as I think. The port now comes through stronger and occupies the mouth. A bit like a dry red wine plus a sweetie. Also a seasoning and something that I can hardly describe. Reminds me somehow a bit of a Talisker, but that's not it. Yes, maybe a dryness of red raspberries, which you secretly pick in the summer on the allotment. The smoke also comes out a bit, but not unpleasant, but nicely integrated.
