I've tasted this one a few times, and it's not my favorite type of Port Ellen.
Very fit in. A little too much rubber.
Alcohol is not the best integrated.
    • Nose
      87 87
      Quite dirty nose. Hay, sweating.
It's round, on tar, almost rubber.
Peppery peat, smoke, lemon zest, orange zest.
      Slightly creamy.
    • Taste
      88 88
In the mouth we are in the same line of the nose.
Peat is in the foreground, heavy, oily, peppery.
      We have barbecue, ash, smoke.
The hay, the perspiration are still there.
      Rubber and tar also unfortunately.
      Almonds, walnuts, lemon zest.
    • Finish
      87 87
Creamy finish on peat, pepper, smoke, candied lemon and lemon candy.
      Slight bitterness.

Straightforward and tasty Port Ellen. Not as complex as the two other Norse Cask releases I tasted but excellent once again.
    • Nose
Peat smoke, tar, honey, spices (pepper and ginger) and lemon.
    • Taste
Strong, fat and oily. Spicy and sweet, tarry and lemony. Resinous notes.
    • Finish
      Long, peppery, lemony and smoky.

This is an excellent IB Port Ellen and definitely one for those with a sweet tooth.

    Excellent and very high quality.
    • Nose
Very strong lemon and lime, slight rubber, peat. After a short time the peat seems to develop with some smokiness.
    • Taste
A huge blast of peat but its also quite smooth and sweet. I get some lemon. As it develops there is some tar, barley sugar and lemon sherbert.
    • Finish
Long but very smooth with it.

The nose changes little perhaps a little more rubber.

The palate has got even sweeter and the peat is even more evident..

Finish still long and very sweet.

Very subdued smoke for a Port Ellen. But still very good.
    • Nose
Lots of Butterscotch mixes with dried fruits, honey, burnt sugar and spicy sweetness. Light dimming smoky notes and a little sulphur.
    • Taste
Fat oily sweetness with malt and a little slice of some wood. Strong and spicy with toasted nuts. But still not much smoke.
    • Finish
Long, bitter and with a tail of peat smoke to finish the ride.
