On the nose this whisky has scents of plums and a good amount of peat. Smoked bacon and a little medicinal reminiscent of the scent of a Lagavulin or perhaps even more like a Laphroig. As the name of the whisky suggests, it has matured in port barrels.
The first sip many sweet flavors and a delicious good thick smoke flavor.
Raisins, pepper, leather. A dry finish is added quickly.
Raspberries and strawberries also clearly come to the surface. Although I often like peated whiskys I like the winter, I also like them in the summer with those sweet flavors.
A perfect balance between delicious smoke and sweets.
These flavors are reflected in the aftertaste. An oily taste, later sweetness but especially delicious thick smoke
