Still a great member of the single pot still whiskeys: full, fruity, spicy, classic pot still. Only in the departure of this batch is my opinion a bit weaker (because shorter) than its predecessors.
A full, voluminous nose with dark fruits, sultanas and figs. Brown sugar covers the fruits.
In addition, a strong leather note. After a while, the fruit fades into the background and pepper and nutmeg, mixed with the leather, take the lead. This spicy nose stays "stable" for a very long time, nothing flattens out.
Very full and creamy onset, which, although undiluted, does not burn, but only pleasantly warms.
Sherrynoten in addition to fine bitter chocolate, oak is surprisingly easy to taste. Spicy: White pepper, mild liquorice. Almonds. Fresh pipe tobacco. It gets a bit thin at the back.
Medium long, getting dry. Finished with sherry and berries, oak.
