Whisky Reviews for Mortlach 2004 DL

- Yeah, I like this. It's young and not quite polished yet, but nevertheless attractive and pleasing.
Surprisingly fruity and ripe, with apple, banana and even a hint of mango. Plenty of vanilla too. However, this also has more of a barnyard appeal. Some sour manure and fairly malty. A wee bit of sulphur.
Spicy, fruity, meaty. This is quintessential naked Mortlach. Hints of almond, a pinch of pepper, and a light grassiness accompanied by green apples.
Apple peel, vanilla and banana. Medium in length.
Pear, caramel, white grape and minerals. Slightly puke-y.
Pear, caramel and almond. Has a dirty touch to it that I'm not too fond of in this case.
Green apple skin, almond, dry white wine and caramel.
- Compared with Mortlach 1997 WhB #12844 and Mortlach 1989 AD #2789.
Fresh, grassy, fruity apple and banana . Some wood smoke, vanilla, a hint of peat and pine resin.
Fruity, mint and floral notes. Leafs, creamy fruits and honey.
Medium drying with fruits, malty, apple and vanilla.
With water some chocolate.
- Beautiful whisky, nice balance, complex and again not.
Flower meadow in the summer, malt, herbs
Cigars, peppers, honey, mandarin, very little peat
long, full, spicy, sweet, touch of peat
