    • Nose
Forest berry jam, blackberries, herbs, strawberries, a bit of earth, lots of spices
    • Taste
Forest berry jam, blueberries, blackberries, spices, herbs, a little grapefruit, some nuts, earth, wood

    dark amber (without dye)

    - a really particularly tasty Swede
    - excellent fruity NAS whisky with a super
Fruit aroma of dark berries and sherry
    - The high demand from DEU can lead to the 2nd release
    led quite understandable
    - for 50 € you get a very tasty one
    and good whisky, therefore ok
    • Nose
a very intense and delicious mixture of dark fruits, sweet sherry and some oak,
makes you want to try it right away
    • Taste
soft start, very intense taste of dark fruits, sherry, sweetness, raisins and a special berry, presumably lingonberry, spices, retains a very pleasant warm fruity taste on the palate
    • Finish
very soft, medium-long finish with a long, warm, fruity aftertaste (here again sweetness and the cranberries or other dark berries)

All in all very tasty. You just taste that it's not a Scot. The herbal notes are a bit too dominant.
With the price of just under € 50 but still ok.

    • Nose
      78 78
Fruity and sweet, but also very young and spirited. Honey and some sherry.
    • Taste
      50 50
The sweet, creamy and nutty taste doesn't make up for the bitterness and spirit taste.
    • Finish
      70 70
      Medium length. Spicy and oak.

Very nice, but you have not really drunk. For currently just under 50 €, there are certainly much more exciting Malts. Here, the youthful age is noticeable and ensures significant deductions in the note.
    • Nose
Actually really nice - if this extremely young note would not be, which pushes forward again and again forward. Oranges, honey and subtle sherry notes provide a sweet and lovely nose, but right behind it unfortunately a slightly alcoholic and immature note, which is due to the young age.
    • Taste
Sweet and creamy, yet considerably tarter than in the nose. The wood notes are noticeable in the background, plus a few slightly floral notes. Here, too, a slightly alcoholic note that somewhat spoils the overall impression.
    • Finish
Medium long, slightly dry and dominated by oak and nutty notes.

I find it hard to give this one tip, but probably no Scot and NAS
    • Nose
Nougat, coffee and roasted aromas, freshly cracked walnuts, the aroma is not intense but very peculiar, chestnuts, as when entering a flower shop
    • Taste
very nutty, it goes in the direction of peanuts, almonds and slight sharpness
    • Finish
again very floral as already in the aroma, medium and medium long, earthy

    Ideal for the summer
    • Nose
Blossom honey and vanilla, grapes, tangerines, marshmallows, slightly nutty, licorice
    • Taste
Creamy sweet, grapes, oranges, oak, slightly bitter, men's chocolate
    • Finish
Medium-length finish with neat oak and spice, sticks sweet on the palate, orange chocolate

[September, 2016]  I had this dram during a FoSM club tasting. In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50
    - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 80.  I
took no detailed notes as this whisky did not interest me.

Another fine Mackmyra. More complex compared to other versions without the sherry touch.

    Concerning price/performance ratio: 8/10
    • Nose
Sherry, oranges and vanilla in the mix. Hints of raisins.
    • Taste
Sherry (like some oloroso and madeira mix) and wood. Fruit, hints of candied gummy bears.
    • Finish
Medium. Sherry and wood with some red fruits.

  10. didi1893 scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

The nose is extremely influenced by intense sherry tones. The taste and finish are less fruit, dominate more sharpness and woody notes. A very smooth and delicious whisky. For me an excellent price-performance ratio.
    • Nose
The first nosing raises intense and voluminous sherry aromas from the glass. A fruity grain note mixes with orange and cherry flavor. The alcohol is harmoniously integrated into the spicy grain note. From the oranges and mandarins rises a fine date and raisin flavor and exudes a voluminous sherry aroma.
    • Taste
The first sip is dominated by a sweet and fruity grain note, sherry aromas and subtle notes of wood are added. Despite the "only" 46.1% alcohol content, bitter oak tones bite and tingle on the tongue and on the palate. The slight pungency and the tart wood aromas are always mixed with fruity sherry aroma and exude a plump warmth.
    • Finish
With this chubby but tart warmth begins the departure. The finely tart and sharp wood aromas still echo, spicy wood and fruity sherry dominate the finish. Very slowly, the bizarre sharpness sounds.
