Very nice, but you have not really drunk. For currently just under 50 €, there are certainly much more exciting Malts. Here, the youthful age is noticeable and ensures significant deductions in the note.
Actually really nice - if this extremely young note would not be, which pushes forward again and again forward. Oranges, honey and subtle sherry notes provide a sweet and lovely nose, but right behind it unfortunately a slightly alcoholic and immature note, which is due to the young age.
Sweet and creamy, yet considerably tarter than in the nose. The wood notes are noticeable in the background, plus a few slightly floral notes. Here, too, a slightly alcoholic note that somewhat spoils the overall impression.
Medium long, slightly dry and dominated by oak and nutty notes.
[September, 2016] I had this dram during a FoSM club tasting.In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 80. I took no detailed notes as this whisky did not interest me.
The nose is extremely influenced by intense sherry tones. The taste and finish are less fruit, dominate more sharpness and woody notes. A very smooth and delicious whisky. For me an excellent price-performance ratio.
The first nosing raises intense and voluminous sherry aromas from the glass. A fruity grain note mixes with orange and cherry flavor. The alcohol is harmoniously integrated into the spicy grain note. From the oranges and mandarins rises a fine date and raisin flavor and exudes a voluminous sherry aroma.
The first sip is dominated by a sweet and fruity grain note, sherry aromas and subtle notes of wood are added. Despite the "only" 46.1% alcohol content, bitter oak tones bite and tingle on the tongue and on the palate. The slight pungency and the tart wood aromas are always mixed with fruity sherry aroma and exude a plump warmth.
With this chubby but tart warmth begins the departure. The finely tart and sharp wood aromas still echo, spicy wood and fruity sherry dominate the finish. Very slowly, the bizarre sharpness sounds.
