Sweet citrus and hints of peach. Soot and dust from old books with mould growing. Oily base with scent of nutmeg oil.
    • Taste
      83 83
Honey, wood notes of spices, oatmeal, Japanese green wood powder spice. Little bit of spicy ginger and more citrus.
    • Finish
      82 82
      Medium to long sweet sourness.

N- Cooking oil, nutty with earthy tar. Smokes tea and with scents of library, old books. Get dust of sweet spices, seasoned wood and hue of fresh laundry. Pleasant but muted and reserves.

P- Calm, more apparent honey with sweet heather smokes drifting on the palate, with sweet ginger, as well some dried fruits. Narrow and austere, quite boring actually.

F- Medium, tad of roughness from the dusty and spiky wood adds a much needed lifting effect on the finish, with nuttiness carry on and a much better interpretation of citrus fruits with wood-waxy honey. — at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.

The nose on this is a little closed, but pleasant, however the notes were quite muted and I didn’t feel much sherry influence at all. The bitter soapy note on the finish kind of ruined this a little for me, I can’t really justify getting this over the regular distillery bottling considering it costs so much more.

    Reviewed in my blog:
    • Nose
Waxy citrus peels. Floral. Citrus blossoms. Slight hint of salt. A little woodspice. Slight dusty notes. Wet, withered leaves.
    • Taste
Herbal honey. Slightly soapy. More citrus peels. Dunnage. Bitter woodspice and a slight woody vanilla note.
    • Finish
Long. Slightly unpleasant bitter soapy note here. Along with bitter citrus, honey and a herbal note.
