- Blairfindy, 1976/1996, 51.8% ABV https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/7712/blairfindy-1976-ba #WagnerAlexTastingNotes Aroma: fruity, nutty, slightly acidic, pronounced Oloroso influence - yet delicate, minimal (!!!) sulfur, slight impression of wood (perhaps a little charcoal), citrus Taste: creamy, round, not very complex - but solid, chocolate, soft and gentle, slightly dry, water is good for him Finish / aftertaste: minimal wood, vanilla, slightly more dry - yet sweet, medium long Comment: solid, tasty, but no "ripper" Points: 89/100
- At first I was a little disappointment. But when you give this whisky some time, it will reward you for your patience.
Citrus zest, floral, very nutty and creamy in the nose. It’s quite complex and developing.
Pity the taste doesn’t really 100% deliver what the smell promises.
The lightly charred finish, seems to grow on me. I think I’ll pour me another one as my bottle is as good as empty.
- Undisclosed Glenfarclas.
