I wish he had still had a bit more fruit from his nose, pomegranate, more fresh than just dry blood oranges, etc., then 93P would even have been open. :)
Otherwise dream part for bitter and coffee lovers.
    • Nose
Brilliant! Very deep and intense for 40%, rum pot, pomegranate, Demerara rum, camphor, cumin, saffron, blood orange, baked apple, nutmeg, dark toffee soup, oiled leather, a hint of liquorice, later also fresh coffee beans
    • Taste
Wow, like 48%, bittersweet bomb, pure coffee beans and liquorice, plus intense date syrup and rum pot, roasted malt, lead mine, cumin, nutmeg, thick, dark leather, manuka honey, blood orange and saffron
    • Finish
Pure mocha, we just got more, maybe. Only had coffee in the finish 3-4 times as intense, liquorice, roasted chestnut, leather, long

Intense nose on sherry, dark fruits, tobacco, the palate is very good but not as great maybe because of the low abv? still very fruity with some tropicality (bananas) , very good.

Another great Strathisla for GM. Very deep and rich, very complex.

    Concerning price/performance ratio: 6/10
    • Nose
Dark sherry and red dried fruits, plums, jam, musty, old book shelf, old leather, coffee, hints of tobacco.
    • Taste
Musty. Sweet and fruity oak with leather covered with dark fruits. Big jam and an amazing texture. Some berries.
    • Finish
Long. Again a fruity musty oak. Dry sweet tannins.

The nose is great, the palate and the finish are a bit behind the nose. Overall still a pretty good whisky.
    • Nose
Deep and rich dried fruits, ripe bananas, prunes, apricots, sweet oak wood, vanilla
    • Taste
Very oaky, rather dry, still dried fruits and straw
    • Finish
Long and warm, just a tad bitterness

Pretty pleasant on  the nose with the typical woody and fruity notes. On the palate it is then rather a bit oaky dry, less fruity and there is a slight bitterness. Overall I think this one is solid but a little less enjoyable and somewhat flatter than other Strathislas from this era, for example the Strathisla 1964/2006 from G&M.
