  1. ErrHaBe scored this whisky 82 points Expert Junior

Notes come from a blind tasting:

A pretty young whiskey from the bourbon barrel. Maybe a UA bottling with 6-8 years? For a short time, I also thought of Grain or a blend. Relatively easy to drink, not very complex.
    • Nose
      83 83
Overripe fruits (kiwi?), Light acid, gummy bears and a slight solvent. Overall, the nose is cool and very light, a bit metallic, he smells too. Later still light grain, young wood and a light maltiness. After the first drink a little vanilla.
    • Taste
      82 82
Again quite light: slight notes of wood, slight bitterness and, except for bitter citrus peel, no fruit at first tasting. Later it becomes sweeter and woodier, maybe even slightly burnt wood is included. All flavors still very discreet.
    • Finish
      80 80
Slightly bubbling alcohol, a slightly dry sweetness. The bitterness increases a bit. And away isser!

Well, he can do something, interesting times such a SC Irish with such light notes. A nice summer piece.
    • Nose
Green apple, very fresh, grass, meadow, apricot, citrus, vanilla, honey,
    • Taste
Apricot, honey, some heather in between, vanilla, nice honey and fresh grass in between, flowers of a flower meadow, green apple, pineapple
    • Finish
Sour-foral, beautiful fruit, apricot, fruit seeds, sweet malt, honey, herbs, medium-long

In Cooley bottlings, I often find a smell and taste of grass that I do not like. Objectively, he is a very decent Irishman, even if he is not able to stand out from the crowd by special features.
    • Nose
A - I think - typical Cooley nose: grassy, slightly alcoholic. In addition, slight approaches of green apple. Overall, a very "fresh" nose.
    • Taste
Caramel and whole milk chocolate. Still the taste of a freshly mown meadow. The 46% provide a pleasant mouth-filling strength. No more alcohol.
    • Finish
Medium to short, getting dry. A touch of fruit remains.
