- My favorite whiskey for with coke
Clearly sweet. Lots of vanilla. Fresh fruit. Some honey. Not too complicated, but not too badly covered with alcohol.
Pretty light. Sweet, vanilla at the beginning. Some fresh fruit flashed by. Then it starts to get rather oaky and spicy. The sweetness still runs in the background somewhere.
Spicy at first. Then there is some sweetness, some malt. Vanilla and honey in the background. Still some spices, mostly on the tongue. Quite short and very simple.
vanilla, caramel, alcohol, a little bit creamy, bourbon cask aromas, maybe hints of bananas
sweet, a lot of peppery, new wood, bitterness, vanilla, simple
a lot of bitterness, short, empty...
- Appearance: Slightly deeper than straw, golden orange.
Nose: Caramel, butter, vanilla, honey, sweet apple, peach, touch of sweet orange, lemon. Nose is sweet and malty, buttery, rich. Luscious but simple.
Palate: Honey, grain spirit spike, butter, vanilla and toffee. Butterscotch. Sweet and simple. Nothing to dislike except a bit too much spike.
Finish: Peppery honey, vanilla, grain spirits.
With Water: Spirits milder in the nose, more honey and vanilla. Soft flavor, slightly more woody / oaky. Works fine.
Overall: Very sweet and caramel, vanilla. Not at all complex. Tastes nice, but the spirit spike is a bit too much. For this price, no complaints, but I prefer Teachers and probably Cutty Sark as well. After a couple shots, this gets boring.
- Grain malt, alcohol, barley malt, sulfur, watery with warming cut.
- Sharp grain and soft barley malt, little bit watery and spicy.
