So I imagined that, there is the evil PC again, a little stinky, but afterwards all the more worthwhile. The grill / salt / sea combination is complemented by quite present sherry notes, great!
Comparison from memory: apart from perhaps for one or the other noticeable sulfur note for me no difference to the earlier batch. If he breathed in the bottle for a while, he had a great impact!
    • Nose
Pure: at the very beginning, a hint of sulfur, personally does not bother me at all. Otherwise: we are back home. Rhinns of Islay, Terroir (I want to believe), burning, freshly fertilized field. Salt spray. Behind it light fruit notes, canned peach, some meaty sherry notes, fresh grilled rump steak. Yes, it must be! With water: more smoke, more grill, less fruit. Hmmmm
    • Taste
Pure: even better than the nose, of course spicy, but no matter; then: maple syrup with almost burnt cotton candy, figs in bacon, roasted almonds, spicy fruitiness. Delicious!! With water: even honey sweeter, less oaky and spicy, smoother. What more, if you already know him well, I think.
    • Finish
      long, sweet, red.

Very nice Bruichladdich, Islay style with fruit and sweetness, lots of body, fat, and a lovely rather present peaty nose and mouth. Long fat finish. Worth the bucks all the way. My bottle is finished and I am sad. I don’t go for 90 pts because the peat is maybe not as well merged with the fruit as other whiskys, but I really loved it, wilder than others, with a personnality. A tad uncivilised as I like them.

A beautiful color. A very very smoky nose. The first contact is severe then the body spreads slowly in the mouth and invades. For me tasting is almost impossible without a few drops of water. Then it's mostly candied fruits
