2002-2013: balance is the word here. A little more sherried notes, a little less peat and little more fruitiness.
2005-2015: a little more spiciness and peat and therefore a little more exciting.
Both are superb quality and the consistency is quite remarkable. The difference is subtle. Though I have a slight preference for the 2002. It just all seems to be there. Balanced, smooth, complete. The 2005 is a little more fierce.
Burnt wood, spices, red fruits and (compared to other releases) a little more peat which gives hints of a campfire.
Punchy arrival, more alcoholic. I get some tropical influences such as coconut and mango and it’s quite savory.
Quite spicy, salty, peaty with a fruit bowl. Alcohol didn’t integrate as well as with batch 2002.
