Whisky Reviews for Bunnahabhain 1976 MoS
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.57 points
- No trace of sherry but except that it's a very well-done whisky. I just think it misses something to be more than very good. Probably more balance and finesse between oak and fruits.
Peaches, bananas, apples, honey, slightly floral, a touch of vanilla, a few spices.
Oaky and fruity. Bananas and vanilla are still there, as is the honey.
Medium, fruits and honey.
- The maturation in sherry casks is quite discreet ...
An addition of water brings out the nose and the white flowers ... it looks almost like a young lowlands or some young clynelish, the coastal side in less ...
In short, a bunna quite deceptive for his age. Not super packed by this bottling ... we are very far for example bunnahabhain Duncan Taylor ...
Nose: On the apple and the white peach, quite floral, a little malty, lets appear a hint of honey ... not hyper complex and seems younger than its age ...
Palate: Maltée, woody, an acidity that bothers me, hot enough in fact but always on floral notes.
Finish: moderately long and spicy, vegetal and floral ...
- Tastes like a bourbon and not like a sherry butt. Typical Bunna - recommended.
Warming and aromatic. Both fruity and herbal-flowery: A bouguet of wild flowers plus hay and bananas. Plenty of vanilla like in a very good grain whisky. Lovely nose.
Warming, rich and clean. The first mouthfeel is sweet. Oaky with lots of vanilla, ginger, banana milk and honey. Tasty.
Medium long and clean. Vanilla and honey change to liquorice and the taste becomes dryer.
