Whisky Reviews for Palatinatus 2012

1 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 31.67 points

  1. Hemdl scored this whisky 45 points Connoisseur

The tenor of the evening was - late in the evening - that this is a decent obstacle sold far too expensive, but the malt does not taste as bad as it smells. From me there is expressly no purchase recommendation, so I'm sorry for the "neighbors" also does. This is not a single malt as you know it and love it. If you like to drink fruit, but may like to try, but it should be cheaper alternatives in this segment.
    • Nose
Obstler, definitely. Kirschwasser, to be exact. The smell is downright obtrusive and does not really get better after several minutes in the glass. With fruit brandies I can traditionally do little, I do not drink at all. In that sense, that is quite daunting. I like my wife, she likes the smell ... I can not perceive much more, there is neither the oak nor any other, notable aromas.
    • Taste
Again, I can report a few posives. The fruit brandy remains predominant, even if it goes more in the direction of Williams pear with a little cherry. In the background is a tiny hint of oak, but you really have to look for it. The malt is mild, much milder than the 45.0% Vol
    • Finish
The finish is so short that it is hardly worth a mention. Hardly off the tongue, the malt is already gone. Here he seems watered down.
