Whisky Reviews for Glenlossie 1974 GM

- Grandiose nose, which the rest of the malts can not quite reach. Unfortunately, in my eyes, a bit too bitter aftertaste, what the overall score somewhat verhagelt. Anyone who likes to take his time to get away with malts should be happy here. All in all, a nice malt that can not justify today's prices.
Subtle oak in the background, in front of it massively juicy oranges, ripe fruits and sweet honey. A hint of floral notes. It makes you run into your mouth at the first breath. Gorgeous old-school flavors, no junk notes. Eerily present in the glass, which does not need a start-up time to develop.
As expected, a rather mild representative, the 40.0% Vol. Contribute to a considerable extent. Again, dominated by sweet fruits, even if I can not find the distinctive orange note from the nose right away. Here it is more like red apples, licorice and a slightly buttery note, without certain parts stand out. Very pleasant, but does not quite reach the (fantastic) nose.
The sweetness of the fruit disappears quite fast, it is now much bitter and slightly bitter. No dryness, but the barrels are still noticeable. Overall medium-long finish, then missing - for me - then a few percentage points. For me unfortunately the weakest part of this bottling.
