Horny part! Once again a real bastard Ledaig.
    • Nose
Dirty nose! Sweetish smoke. Greasy. Sourly. Banana. Wet grass. Something musty.
    • Taste
Extremely powerful and salivary-stimulating. Dirty smoke. Some tar. But again sweet and sour. Mash.
    • Finish
      Lang. rauchig. modrig

really good but as I said, I think those calibres would age perfectly. Really hope they keep some of these casks. How about a 25 year old ledaig in the future Mr. Symington?
    • Nose
very smoky, very tarry, liquorice, some citrus fruit in the background as well as some vanilla. rather light sherry influence for a 1st -fill. (why don´t they mature these young peaters with a this potential just a few  years longer?)
    • Taste
substantial smoky arrival, not too sweet with liquorice, aniseed, chocolate, malt, salt, lemons and tangerines.
      nice oily mouthfeel.
    • Finish
      long and warming

  5. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

This is not my first young SV-CS-Sherry-Ledaig, and again: Geil! Strong, dirty, on the mouth, cowshed, ashes, yet idiosyncratic, every barrel an experience! (But not for everyone. ;-))
    • Nose
dry and spicy, match, New Year's Eve party, dirty, with some water -> dull, warm sweetness, milk chocolate, cowshed, spinach (cooked), warm, moist hay, mushrooms, but remains quite snappy
    • Taste
even with water still snappy, there can be even more pure -> bitter chocolate with pepper, brown sugar, malt candy, walnut, toasted notes, burnt bread, bitter ashes ... dry and spicy, but still somehow creamy
    • Finish
Laaang, peppery, ashy, furry-dry in the mouth, there is in the reverberation still a spent farm and a little overloaded control cabinet

I´d prefer the 2004 SVs too.
Taste: this one has a very strong touch of flintstone, which develops to sharp and very pungeant note of sulphuric acid in taste, you have to like it or not. Slightly out of  balance (compared to the former ones).

This stuff is not bad at all (actually it's still quite good), but when you hear "Signatory Vintage Ledaig 1st Fill Sherry" these days, your associations will probably be the bottlings from the fantastic 2004 vintage.
I don't know what's different about these 2005 bottlings, I don't think it's only the slightly younger age. I assume it's rather a different kind and/ or quality of sherry casks. As a result, these 2005 bottlings to me appear much more like a re-fill type of sherried Ledaig. They don't come close to the 2004's, but again, it's still good whisky.
This very bottling (cask 900150), to my knowledge, is exclusive to German whisky trader The Whisky Store.

Compared to the excellent cask 900177 this one has a less attractive nose, and also the taste reveals a note (besides the typical notes that you expect in a sherry cask matured Ledaig, like horsestable, dirt, ashes, smoked ham..) a note that I don't really appreciate.
Still OK whisky, but in direct comparison with some of the recent bottlings by Signatory (not to mention the very dark Cutty Forum Whisky 2015!) this one is less attractive in my opinion.
