Amazingly complex for a three-year-old. Here was probably a good quartercask at work, which has sent under the maturing conditions in the Rohrmeisterei a high proportion of the angels. This whisky is called "Suerte". He stands for the name of the city Schwerte, in which he was allowed to mature. Translated from Spanish, "suerte" means happiness and this whisky is a real stroke of luck for anyone who could get a bottle out of this barrel.
    • Nose
Wood glue, beeswax Pancake, light fruit note
    • Taste
Salt liquorice, dark cherries, slight oak note, furniture polish
    • Finish
becoming long and dry, cherry note is swallowed by a slightly bitter dust note

    web info:

In collaboration with the Märkische specialty distillery in Hagen, the Rohrmeisterei distils swords every year. At the beginning, the fresh distillate should not be called whisky, because only aging in oak barrels for three years makes the so-called "new make" mature into the "water of life". The barrels are stored "on the crane" in the gastronomy of the Rohrmeisterei or in the neighboring wine cellar.
Each year, two new barrels are filled (1 × 3 years and 1 × 5 years storage). The selection of barrels ranges from used bourbon over sherry to port wine or rum barrel. Wood makes the whisky!

Suerte (su `er te) - under this name Schwerte in the Ruhr Valley 962 is mentioned by Abt Engelbert in a document. Here, more precisely: in the Rohrmeisterei, a place for enjoyment and culture, the whisky stores at least three years. By the way, in Spanish Suerte means - luck!

  3. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

For 3 years ne force. No fruit notes and a good deal of oak. He can not quite decide in the style between Bourbon and Single Malt. Something own. But really good.
    • Nose
very bourbon-rich flavors at the beginning, sweet, spices and cloves. Over time, it becomes fruity, in fact beeswax and with a small alcoholic note, but with a little water disappears.
    • Taste
strong, the oak is very present, slightly bitter, spicy. With water it looks a little younger, it will add fruit gum.
    • Finish
long, dry, a little vanilla, cloves, oak and a hint of caramel.
