The good ol sherry whisky to enjoy at the day when the first black hole image released.
    • Nose
Beautiful dark chocolate powder, the chocolate that sits in between hot chocolate drink and baking coco powder. After a long while, soaked dark fruits, sweeter chocolate, sherry. Opened up slowly and nicely, where the dark chocolate wasn't too dominant, the dark fruits become more apparent then the sweet sherry and oak perfume come out slowly.

Even after a few sips, the dark chocolate is still so intense. At one point i think the milk chocolate is floating at the background, like a small shinning star behind a black-hole. I love this!
    • Taste
Full body, mouth watering, rich ol sherry whisky! Lots of dark fruits, dark chocolate in the middle, sweet chewy oak at the end. Some vanilla sweetness.
    • Finish
Tongue coating with sherry sweetness and 80% dark chocolate bitterness, wet oak. Medium long, with a bit of tannin.

Definitely better than the Arran Angels Reserve 20 Y. Different ball game honestly, the 18 finishes heavily while the 20 finishes on a light note.

Cacao powder, could say similar to a hot chocolate. Treacle syrup, maple syrup. Dried plums, dates - specifically ajwa dates. Prunes, beetroot and blue raisins.
    • Taste
      88 88
Imagine blackcurrants, black grapes, mint-dark chocolate, sherry. The elements of a thick and sweet dessert wine. Would go great with a black forest cake. Treacle syrup is highly evident.
    • Finish

Long finish of dark chocolate, a heavy merlot wine paired with bitterness of its tannins. Not a dry finish.

Dark sherry, nice dark chocolate, lots of dried fruits like dates, sawdust. Opened up nicely after a few minutes, sweeter notes become more apparent.

Revisit this baby, and yes, it still reminded me of a Yama 18.

N- Goodies bag filled with dried fruits, a Christmas come early gifts. Nose melting orange caramel, chocolate ganache and crushed mixed nuts spreads on wood staves. Tinge saline developed, pickled ginger and little sour nance fruit. Liquorice, buddha fruit, floral, rock candy and get fruitier if just let it breath overtimes. Enormous but velvety and absolutely delicious. (92/23)

P- Wood and fruit in harmony and interchanging effortlessly. Full, earthed herb-y, brings comfort to the palate. Black Forest cake with Brandy sous-vide cherries. (91/22)

F- Medium-long, vanilla, liquorice, dry spicy coat and warming. Certainly Christmas-y, hint of tobacco from a burning Madurro. Dark, rich and elegant. (91/22)

    B/B- 93/23

    Cereal- 2, Fruity- 2, Floral- 1, Peaty- 0, Feinty- 1, Sulphury- 0, Woody- 3, Winery- 3, Spicy- 1

    (Tasted in year 2015)

N- Beautiful, well aged and generous sherry notes open up, oriental expression of sour plum, dark fruits. Reminded me of the Yamazaki 18Y. Dark chocolate, latte emerge overtime. Deep, complex and beefy.

P- Full body, fine balance of red dates richness on a layers of rooty herbs that bring along a touch of burn earth and tartness.

F- Long and velvet, dry. Immensely spicy strength but elegant. Sweet vanilla and remain and holding well till the end.
