    • Nose
This typical grain note from Bruichladdich to start. But drowned in a certain neutrality, a fairly flagrant youth and poorly integrated alcohol. Some lemon notes. Insignificant and rather rude.
With water, much more interesting and dynamic. With fruits and hazelnut.
    • Taste
Same qualities and defects as on the nose! It has an undeniable presence with a sweet side. With water, more raised with a more fluid texture.
    • Finish
Tip smoke (or toast too marked?) Some spices. It's short !
With water, it is already more persistent.

      Nose: 2/5 (3/5 with water)
      Palate: 3/5
      Final: 2/5 (3/5 with water)

    Gorgeous gold color.
N: Butter, salt, ~very~ pungent, lots of alcohol fumes blowing off, youthful, a bit unbalanced if I was being honest - a bit too much raw alcohol.
P:Butter again. Sweet. Crunchy sugar, all topped off with a big dollop of wasabi mustard. Really cleared out my sinuses! ;-) Not particularly complex.
F:Clean, no oak, l-o-n-g taper, warm, some sourness and a metallic note (again, a sign of its youth).
Well, all in all, an easy drinker and that "wasabi" pop is quite fun.

Aroma: sweet-resinous (resin of coniferous wood), eucalyptus lozenges, wet earth, dried grain, burlap, something mineral, rubber; at the same time there is freshness, flowery, fresh mint, some wood, vanilla pastry, pencil shavings.

Taste: ginger-citrus, caramel sweetness, bitter infusion of medicinal herbs and coniferous notes.

Finish: white bread crumb, pinching ginger, bitter rind, oak motifs, liqueur-herbal, like a sip of herbal liqueur liqueur, of medium duration.

    Rating: 83

Bottom line: a very unusual Brucladi, with a clear phenolic component, leaving for herbs, needles, minerals, rubber with a minimum of fruit component. A few years ago I tried Islay Barley 2007, so I liked it more. Not my Brucladi, although I really love the young molts of this distillery, of course the whisky itself is not bad, with a good balance and a rather long finish, but probably more as an experiment.

Actually, I wanted to complain, always those annoying new vintages, frippery, they should get a constant Islay-Barley, but that's spoiled me now, which is really delicious and different than the ones I've had so far. 50 € ... is just like that. With raised index finger and eyebrows contracted.
    • Nose
first cereal, farm (or if you want: Laddie-cowshed), decent pinch in the nose ... after a while then vanilla, coconut, (a little warm stable muff is still there), so'n tropical-bitter-fruity kick, hard to say, grapefruit maybe, and mushy, fermenting pineapple ... after a long wait then dried herbs, hay, some dried mint
    • Taste
sweeter than expected - brown candy (gaaanz slightly towards Ricola) milk chocolate, wholegrain biscuits, beautiful full-bodied, so between creamy and crispy, the 50% burn not a bit, yummy
    • Finish
long, very warm (gentle pungency), chocolate biscuits, molasses, could in the end also have something of sugar beet syrup

You don't need to savour this one - it does all the work for you. Well worth a try.
    • Nose
An inviting heady aroma - exudes warmth.
    • Taste
Blimey - a surprising smooth whisky considering it comes in at 50% - bursting with flavour.
    • Finish
      Long, warming, but not over-powering.

N- Posh and big fresh penetrating grilled grapefruits, follow by salted
kumquat, delicious vanilla fragrant along dark stout, warm rice, cereal
husk and malty. Playful green leaf and stalks lurking around with
    intense woody notes.

P- Thick, white chocolate, concentrated ripe fruit with well integrated spicy notes, shredded coconut, salt, new make with more sweet herbs and green leaf on the palate. complex, good weight. F- Long, sweet buttery malt, bitter treacle coating with admirable
rounded strength that stays with substance. Some almond, and perhaps a
faint trace of raw white oak, but no harm done.

Their new releases are just got better and better.
