Not a balanced whisky, but realy old school orangy sherry profile. We had real good fun using a couple drops of this as a flavouring agent in some big, higher strength modern whisky's...

Very fragrant. Overripe oranges, cheap Orange soda, burnt caramel, burnt coffee (cheap filtercoffeeblends with bitter burnt flavours to hide that there is actually berry little coffeeflavour), old school sherry very much like some older Dalmores (1980s 12yo distillerybottling)
    • Taste
      84 84
Fullflavoured at 40%, sweet Orange, "kruidkoek", bitter caramel
    • Finish
      79 79
      Sweet Orange, bitter caramel, unbalanced

An old sherry cask which has some nice elements but fails to wow.
    • Nose
Old sherry cask, raisins with cinnamon for a very christmassy feel. Dusty and Smoky, that old coal smoke aroma. Red berries, dried citrus, even some apple.
    • Taste
Old sherry casks, oaky and immediately turning bitter. Dusty and showing age, some cinnamon spice, some blackcurrant but it's fighting with the wood.
    • Finish
Finish is dry, oaky with coal smoke and only short.

  5. Luigisim scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Intense amd sweet. A wonderful consistency and thickness, I guess they used several 20yo+ batches.

  6. Othorion scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
      89 89
very intense, dark berries, raisins, dates, oranges, roasted caramel, a touch of balsamic vinegar, prunes, slightly “burnt” coffee, old books
    • Taste
      87 87
old books, orange jam, orange zest, nutmeg, walnuts, old school sherry, drying out,
    • Finish
      85 85
Walnut, orange zest, slightly warming, medium length

  7. Toto0808 scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

Standard ..... no comparison to the 15 Revivel
    • Nose
Sweet with a hint of sherry and bitter orange
    • Taste
Bitter at first ..... then it becomes more spicy with sherry and dark chocolate .....
    • Finish
Medium to long ...... is a bit weak on the chest overall

  8. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Very sweet sherry bomb that would do a few more good.
    • Nose
Sweet and fruity, like a nice medium-sweet sherry or brandy. Lots of fruit, lots of sherry, spicy oak and a few dried fruits. As sweet as you can imagine a sherynase.
    • Taste
soft and mild, sweet sherry aromas, brandy beans, cloves, oak
    • Finish
not so long, oak, sherry, raisins, towards the end something adringierend.

  10. malthead-sven scored this whisky 81 points Expert Senior

good sherry standard without many rough edges, nose and finish are really great, the taste is a bit back. No comparison to the newer 15 J Revival.
    • Nose
like a bag of freshly opened gummy bears, sweet, very juicy, clove spice, raisins and typical sherry flavors, lilac, nut nougat cream, shortbread
    • Taste
sweet and sweet, but set and slightly dry, a bit weak on the chest
    • Finish
slightly bitter, spreads great in the neck and is present for a long time, warms well after
