this is not a sherry bomb in the sense of it, rather a sugar bomb, certainly sweet as dessert whisky, but definitely too sweet for me. With water a little more conciliatory in the nose, but on the palate then again too sweet. I prefer to drink NEN good rum. The hype about this bottle I can not understand.
    • Nose
very very sweet, immediately it is clear. White chocolate, creme brulée, cotton candy, fruitful I would call Lychee and overripe orange here. A very untypical, almost brandy Sherrynase. Not uninteresting. With water: canned peach, canned mandarins, now also cigar box and some leather, looks more mature. Better!
    • Taste
Here, too, a heavy sweetness, but now clearly "darker", melted milk chocolate couverture, Bailey`s, espresso with lots of sugar, Black Forest cherry. Fierce! With some water: creamy, nougat chocolate, Mon Chérie, now again pretty sweet.
    • Finish
long, milk chocolate and a little oak flavor.

  2. Mannix65 scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Very round and easy-to-drink, personally too harmonious
    • Nose
Burnt almonds, roasted aromas, furniture polish, mead, a little cheesy
    • Taste
Very nutty, sweet sherry, pickled cherries, full-bodied, very round and creamy, almost creamy
    • Finish
Sweet and rather short, very tasty

Except for a few aspects in the nose (the artificiality and the occasionally flashing alcohol), this is an incredibly good whisky. He could get a truly stunning score. So it is "only" (absurd to use the word "only" here) 90 points. And there could really be more.
    • Nose
"Sherry and wood - both flow intensely into the nose. Sweet mulled wine. There is a spicy note of cinnamon. An almost artificial perfume note develops quickly. Grapes, cherries. Surprisingly, after a while the alcohol in the nose only begins Baked apple and dark chocolate, occasionally a little spicy cheese flashes up and then disappears behind the fruit.

Water: sweeter. Applesauce. More supple than undiluted. "
    • Taste
"Deliciously sweet and fruity. Incredibly soft and juicy. Intense cherries. Milk chocolate. Sugared wood. Even more sweetness in the taste. More cherries. This is really great. Sweet herbs.

Water: cherry liqueur from the wooden barrel. Wine-soaked leather. Cocktail cherry. "
    • Finish
Long, warm and incredibly sweet and sticky.

Very, very delicious, "Christmas" fits perfectly.
    • Nose
Wine gums, Black Forest cake, chocolate, rum raisins, sulfur, cheesy
    • Taste
Very elegant for the%, vieeeel cherry, soft oak, almonds, stollen, cinnamon, berry compote
    • Finish
Medium to long, cherry, oak, light spice

  6. wncvirus scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

Nose: sweet notes of sherry, light notes of mint chocolate, cinnamon
Taste: Sweet sherry in the background, the taste of Christmas cheesecake. The perfect item for a Christmas Eve dram!
    Rating: 89 | 100 - Medium-long finish, but quite enough. Worth a try!

A surprise mini-gnome, very sweet, viscous and very special. I would have needed more of it to dissect everything. The sweetest thing I've had in my glass so far.
    • Taste
thick and very sweet, "Christmas" is here program: sweet Christmas bakery, sweet cherries, nut nougat chocolate, toffee and marzipan, Toblerone
    • Finish
      sweet, medium long

  10. KayMeertens scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Salted caramel, cranberry, crême brûlée and apple. A tiny whiff of sulphur.
    • Taste
Cranberry, toffee, bramble, cherry, apple, spice and a little grapefruit.
    • Finish
Salted toffee, cranberry, vanilla pudding and spice.

A simply very very well made sherried malt!

  12. Segens scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

It feels like eating a real cake with so much sweet- and fruitiness. Perfect dram for christmas time. Incredibly quality for its money (110€). I was able to get 2 additional bottles for 150€ which is still a great price!
    • Nose
Black Forest Cake in the nose! Cherries, milk chocolate, some rum influence, plums, wine grapes. Incredible nice nose!
    • Taste
Smooth, elegant sherry influence some fruits in rum, milk chocolate and Black Forest Cake is back with its cherries. Great whisky!
    • Finish
The alcohol carries a sweet and medium long chocolate finish. Lovely!

Phew! Does whisky of that kind have more calories than usual???
Should have tasted it with water btw, but missed out...
    • Nose
Parquet adhesive at first, fortunately gone after a few seconds. The nose reveals it: This is for a sweet tooth. Butter, dark honey, loads of roasted nuts, some cloves, a tad sulphury (like it that way) and - dark belgian ale in the background (no, seriously).
    • Taste
My, this is thick, sticky and very very sweet. Close to the nose, I got all kinds of Christmas pastries and all these goodies, roasted almonds and some old oak providing balance.
    • Finish
      Belgian ale, quite malty now.

Another great Malts of Scotland sherried botteling. Full of flavour and without a trace of sulpher which shows it was a great sherry cask. This is also a real Christmas whisky, more sweet than normal and full of dades and raisons. Very good quality for money and selling extremely fast, so praise yourself happy if you where able to buy a bottle of this Miltonduff!! It will surely give you great joy during the holidays. Merry Christmas!!!
