  1. Gloin scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

A nice classic smell of sherry whisky, without being overweight, ripe, but still alive. Also in the mouth a convincing blend of maturity and vivacity, of sherry and the original whisky. The finish pleases with the tingling on the tongue. Mature, but not too barreled. Only the filthiness of a Bunnahabhain he misses something.
    • Nose
Apricots, cream sherry, tree bark, solvents, some orange in the background, a light sour freshness, wood, spicy, but not dominant
    • Taste
Sherry, dark red apple, some chocolate, orange peel, oak, but hardly bitter,
    • Finish
Oak, baked apple, a hint of cinnamon, the tongue is occupied and vibrates from the memory, chocolate, not quite whole milk, not quite bittersweet

a very pleasant to drink and easy to read Bunna
the special is this tingling shower feeling in connection with the dark matte aromas
I really like him 91 out of 100 points
    • Nose
Sherrynussig, smooth, cool, a touch of nail polish, stale hair spray, warm tea smoke in the background, nut and sherry
    • Taste
      silky smooth start
on the tongue the smoke and the force swells up
powerful without a single sprightly note
      very beautiful
dry nutty sherry, dark fruit with chocolate behind
the smoke is like chocolate powder
      dull and velvety
Smoke on the palate smells a little peat and a lot of chocolate powder
    • Finish
      Tingling like chocolate
      dark velvety fruit
      very nice and delicious

If only all Sherrydinger were like that =)
    • Nose
      95 95
Heavily horny sherry with raisins and chocolate, intense cherries, sweet strawberry juice, just a perfect Sherrynase, influence of Bunnahabhain you notice only discreet - but can also be imagination
    • Taste
      94 94
Pleasant and extremely fruity onset, many cherries and again strawberry juice, slightly peppery, very pleasant oak spice
    • Finish
      92 92
Fruity, sherrylastig, spicy, without being dry

    • Nose
Licorice and a trace of lovage. Old raisins with some salt. Leather, dry tree bark, boardwalk. Vanilla, a trace of glue. Gingerbread spice, orange peel.
    • Taste
Oily, slightly peppery. Sweet sherry with some peach. Then
mild dark chocolate, walnut, sweetened black tea and Moroccan mint. Long, slightly sticky.

Great! Very old and powerful, but not overloaded. The sherry influence is noticeable but not intrusive. At the same time he experiences in the aroma and in the taste an interesting change from the stormy-salty Bunna character to sweetly fruity barrel influences. The age is very noticeable with herbs and oak. Great Bunnahabhain, which I personally would like to enjoy without water though.
    • Nose
Paff! This is Bunnahabhain as I like it! Direct salt, sea, pepper, wooden board, jetty and really strong! The fresh sea breeze is interrupted by slightly sweetish fruits and caramel. Now the malt begins to wander on the ridge between spicy barrel influence, the distillery character and sherry influence. Honey, strong oak, red berries, salt, a nice hike is that, coffee, fresh slightly tart herbs, sparkling red apple, cane sugar, tobacco. In the second Naser sweeter with more sherry and caramel.
    • Taste
Spray! right strength, salt, pepper, oak, berry fruit, again apples. Now it is sweeter, here is the Sherry influence stronger, again bitter herbs, honey. With a drop of water much sweeter and creamier, but the power passes quickly
    • Finish
Hmmm, oak, cane sugar, coffee, herbs, dark chocolate, less salt, leather, tobacco, frankincense. He stays long and creamy with sherry, very nice warming, a hint of smoke

A great old Bunnahabhain! The nose invites you to dream, the taste is characterized by an incredible strength and power. In the finish the extreme mixture of leather, tobacco and a hint of smoke enthuses. A great and complex whisky which whets your appetite for more!
    • Nose
From the first moment on, a pinch of sea air is noticeable. Salty spray beats on the old musty wooden footbridge. The salt water flushes a variety of flavors from the wooden beams. Dark berries, candied apples, moldy leather and a hint of smoke pour from the salty wood. A subtle pinch of pepper, or sharpness is added while fruity sweetness and spicy wood play together. An incredible aroma whets the appetite for more.
    • Taste
Violent and extremely spicy woody aromas dominate the first sip. A load of salt and pepper explodes in the mouth and brings out the salty wooden bridge from the nose to full advantage. Slowly the unbelievable force dies down and the salivation is massively stimulated. The addition of a few drops of water makes the Bunnahabhain appear much smoother and softer. However, the salty and spicy note can not be suppressed and alternates with the spicy wood flavors. While the sharpness dies away, a great old leather aroma is created which mixes with dark espresso powder. Here and there dark berries appear.
    • Finish
The finish begins with a bitter and slightly bitter leather note. Spicy wood penetrates through the great mixture of leather, tobacco leaves and a hint of smoke. For a long time the finish exudes a chubby and wonderful mouthfeel. In the end, this extreme leather and tobacco blend remains.

    Brilliant part, whopping 92 points.

The notes come from an online chat tasting, in which I had to endure a tough fight with the keyboard, so it's all a bit poor.
The notes will be supplemented on occasion after another tasting.
    • Nose
Sherry, brackish water, mineral notes and nuts, green herbs. After confessing something, I first have gingerbread in my nose, very soft smoke, definitely brown sugar. I warmly doused dried fruits with salted, melted butter.
    • Taste
In the mouth, it really starts, Kosistenz waxy, almost solid, power development gentle and slow but powerful. With a little water, he gets even saltier, when he is so beautiful. Otherwise, all flavors from the nose are found in the taste in principle.
    • Finish
The finish is very long, initially salty, nutty at the end.

  9. Archer scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

A very good sherry barrel makes for a great Bunnahabhain.
    • Nose
The first thing in my head (or nose) shoots: Frankincense! Can that be? In addition spicy sherry, caramelized cane sugar. Leather and tobacco. Mighty oak. The spices are strong and penetrating. Next to yeast. Sweet and hard, as befits such a classic car.
    • Taste
Oh yes, great start. Strong sherry with strong oak. Very full and viscous creamy. Fine-sour fruit notes (not quite ripe plums?), Cranberries, dark chocolate. Mild-spicy tobacco. Slanting sunlight from an afternoon sun draws the last notes of game from a leather armchair drawn by the years.
    • Finish
The finish is long, fine dry, sour-fruity and very well balanced oak-accented.

  10. Noface83 scored this whisky 90 points Specialist

Nose: earthy, dirty harbor air, heavy sherry, brown sugar, a hint of smoke, lots of herbs and old oak wood With water and time, the beautiful opens up becomes fruity and sweeter. But also a little more pepper is now in the nose.
In the mouth then aromatic oaky. Full and strong. The oak is very dominant with leather, coffee and roasted aromas. Water conjures up a wonderful sweetness. Very long remains in the finish and shows his age right now. A divine finish especially after a few drops of water.
Very large cinema but unfortunately a bit steep in the price.
