Whisky Reviews for Aberfeldy 1978 DL

1 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 83.50 points

  1. Nimrod77 scored this whisky 87 points Expert Junior

Strange, because I would have tipped more on a Lowlander than on Aberfeldy .... or say we did not expect that lowland flavor. Nevertheless, or perhaps because of that, a great whisky. On the one hand, the taste keeps what the nose promises pleasant, and on the other hand, everything harmonizes beautifully with each other here. A tasty drink.
I find a certain resemblance to the recently tasted Bladnoch OMC 1977.
    • Nose
From the nose absolutely "lowlandig", hardly alcohol, flowery and rather gentle, but a mix of perfumed honey, vanilla and oak, crumble cake with powdered sugar, after some time in the glass unripe bananas
    • Taste
Also here rather gentle and restrained, although warming and voluminous but not alcoholic, rather pleasant and playful, mild honey, bittersweet chocolate, oak, wet moss, a bit grassy, towards the end again crumble cake and vanilla.
    • Finish
Warming pleasant and of medium length
