An intensely spicy ex-sherry nose! It's exciting and somehow quite impetuous. Massively strong and the alcohol dances samba in the mouth, but still it is mainly the taste and the finish that make this malt convincing. The nose remains a bit ambiguous ...
    • Nose
      86 86
The malt fills the glass with a caramel brown tinge with a maroon tinge, a few thick bubbles settle on the edge, from a strong liquid edge small drops trickle down the glass wall like saw teeth. First, a caramel drop sits in the middle of your nose. As soon as you can carefully sniff past it a few moments later, sticky forest honey becomes almost tangible, sweet and spicy. Behind it, canned sour cherries and blueberries free themselves from the sweetness on a soaked cake base. Dates and raisins follow. The whole time, however, you have to be careful when nosing, because if your nose gets too close to the edge of the glass, a sharp vinegar note, wasabi, freshly unpacked gauze bandages and lime sting your nose. From a safe distance, however, you can also perceive dark chocolate, rapeseed oil, marmite, wild herbs like in a scented sachet and a mineral note of chalk.
    • Taste
      88 88
In the tasting, after an initially sticky sweetness, the sour cherries burn forward with a strong alcoholic tinge. The consistency remains full-bodied, creamy and honey-like, but the taste is rather tart and tart with figs, oranges, almonds and rapeseed oil and the herbs and a pinch of pepper and resin.
    • Finish
      89 89
On a furry tongue for a moment, cocoa and charred fir wood, honey and something lemony are held, before a very nice, sweet and malty memory of herb cream candy takes over the rest of the finish - surprisingly velvety and gentle for the rest of the appearance.
